A Johnstown man wearing boxer underwear, socks and a shirt was arrested late Tuesday on charges of attempting to break into an Old Conemaugh Borough business and threatening to kill a woman who lives nearby.

One of few people who can consistently find something funny to say about Johnstown is apparently deciding to call it quits.

Most of those I talked to, however, knew or sensed that the old days were gone for good, that Big Steel was done for in Johnstown and that government couldn’t or wouldn’t help much, if at all. They were on their own, they knew. And they were “bitter,” just as Obama said they were.
